Medina Marching Band has been involved in many competitions, parades, tattoos and filming events around the UK and mainland Europe, They have been featured in the ITV television production of the critically acclaimed “South Bank Show”, the BBC’s “Children in Need” and have had the great pleasure of performing in the presence of HM the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Over the years the band has also won many awards in competitions and achieved the outstanding honour of winning Championship Class of the 2003 National Youth Marching Band Championships staged in Birmingham, this was to be the last time the band took part in a competition.
In 2016 the band took part in the Kingston Borough Bands Tattoo and in 2017 the band took up an invitation and went over sea’s to take part in the prestigious VE Day street parade and Taptoe (Tattoo) in Roeselare Belgium.
In November 2019 the band was invited to take part in the prestigious London Lord Mayors Show for the 3rd time in the bands history.
2021 see the band celebrate its 45th anniversary since its formation in 1976.
